Uses: 1,4-Butanediol is an important raw material in organic chemical industry and fine chemical industry. It has extensive applications across fields such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and military engineering. Primarily, it serves to produce high-value fine chemical products including polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), tetrahydrofuran (THF), γ-butyrolactone (GBL), N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP), N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP), polyurethane resins (PU), and high-performance elastic fiber SPANDEX (spandex/Lycra). Additionally, 1,4-butanediol is utilized in the synthesis of vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides, and functions as a solvent, plasticizer, lubricant, humidifier, softener, adhesive, and brightening agent in electroplating processes.
